Flowers to Ukraine
Though most traditions are quite similar to American and Europe, there are several basic notes that should be taken into consideration before sending flowers to Ukraine.
According to the flower etiquette in the Ukraine, an even number of flowers is suitable for expressing sympathy only. Therefore all funeral and mourning bouquets contain of even number of stems, and the only exception is a mixed bouquet, in which the number of stems has no symbolic meaning.
According to another numerical tradition, you should present a birthday girl with as many flowers as she has years, but subtract or add one to make the number odd, if necessary.
One should be careful with presenting yellow flowers because in Ukraine there is still an old prejudice saying that it is a sign of bad luck and signifies the end of the affair. Though some women love yellow flowers, we would advise using them with great care. A good way out is to make a bouquet using both yellow and red colors, or to add some other warm colors.
